Opportunities to Get Involved, Alumni Volunteer
As Grand River Academy alums, your insight and participation is the key to building a productive and active alumni program that will offer professional networking and social opportunities, as well as contribute to a stronger and more spirited Grand River community. Currently the association is looking for folks like you to fill the following alumni volunteer opportunities:
ALUMNI CLASS REPRESENTATIVES: Grand River is seeking individuals of each Graduated class to serve as a Class representative. Class reps will serve as the link between Grand River and their classmates by helping to communicate what’s happening on campus, promote Alumni events and help GRA communicate with alumni by updating their contact information. Class Reps will be invited back to campus for a social briefing by school leaders. They will have the opportunity to share their questions and or concerns on behalf of your class.
Class Representative volunteer opportunities include:
- Connecting with classmates throughout the year via social media, email, letter correspondence or phone.
- Recruiting classmates to attend existing Alumni programs such as the Bud Field Hall of Excellence Ceremony, Gatherings, Graduation, Reunion Celebration, and professional and social networking events.
- Encouraging classmates’ support of Alumni Association and Academy programming as well as their support of The Blue and White Fund annually.
- Serving as a “voice” for their class and providing feedback to the Alumni Association and school.

Person to person – Speak with a Mentor
Career mentors are dedicated GRA alumni who have volunteered to speak with other members of the Grand River community about their chosen profession and the path that led them to it. Career mentors are always available by email and phone, and when time and geography allow, will meet in person. Mentors are also invited to spend a full day on campus each year as special guests during our annual Career Expo for juniors and seniors.
We are looking for Mentors in the following professions:
Accounting, Advertising & Marketing, Architecture, Banking, Consulting, Culinary Arts, Design, Education, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Government Service, Import/Export, Information Technology, Investment Management, Journalism, Law, Medicine, Military, Political Organization, Psychology & Counseling, Venture Capital, Veterinary Medicine, etc.

GRA students applying to college for the first time or those looking to take the next step in their academic careers could use your help! Volunteer in the College Bound Network to tell them all about your alma mater and share insights on how to succeed there!
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION/COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
Serving as an association/committee volunteer provides an opportunity to reconnect with long lost friends and influence the strategic direction of Grand River’s alumni programming in your area of interest.
