Your Grand River Eagles played in the Championship basketball game for the Lake Effect Conference. The team won against St. Martin de Porres 71-38! Congratulations to the team! Thank you to everyone who cheered on the guys in person and from a distance.
We have been making the most of our weekends lately with visits to nearby places and having fun on campus. Here is a look at some of the recent events and trips so far this year:
Grand River Academy and several local schools are actively participating in the Youth Philanthropy initiative, made possible by the Ashtabula Foundation. Our students have been conducting site visits recently to potential grant beneficiaries. So far we have visited:
1. Steps for Success:
An organization focused on assisting high school seniors transition into a trade or start their own business.
2. YMCA:
Our visit focused on their boating program to help youth learn water safety.
3. Geneva Food Pantry:
The Food Pantry provides food for local families in need.
4. Maddox Cat Rescue:
Provides care and home for abandoned or neglected cats and finds new homes for them.

Founded in 1922, the Ashtabula Foundation has emphasized the importance of giving to charitable organizations benefiting Ashtabula County. Each year, the Foundation enables local school students to experience the prudent use of funds in supporting deserving nonprofit organizations.
Recently, we held our academic and soccer awards. We are so proud of all the hard work our students have put in this year so far. Please join us in congratulating them on a job well done. Go Eagles!
HEAD OF SCHOOL’S LIST, DEAN’S LIST, HONOR ROLL
At the end of each term of the academic year, grades are averaged and those students with all grades of a 90 or above are placed on the Head of School’s list. Students achieving an average of 90 and above with no single grade less than 85 are placed on the Dean's List. An 80 to 89, with no single grade less than 75, places a student on the Honor Roll. Advanced classes are weighted on a 5-point scale. Students must have a minimum of four academic classes to qualify for each list.

You may remember a few weeks ago, we introduced Maz, the art room's foster rabbit. Well, Maz is now the officially adopted art room bunny!! Here she keeps Suveer company as he glazes a bowl he created on the pottery wheel.
