In its fourth year of STEAM Days, Grand River Academy is excited to announce registration is now open for its July Summer STEAM Day on Wednesday, July 18thfrom 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
This popular event is offered to local students entering first through eighth grade and has participants from across Ashtabula County. The 2017 – 2018 STEAM Days are sponsored by Ashtabula Roto-Rooter.
The focus of July's event is discovering the power of the summer sun. Children will learn how to harness solar energy, with the help of Grand River Academy instructors, by creating solar ovens to cook up some tasty treats.
STEAM Academy Director and curriculum organizer of the STEAM Days on GRA's campus Mrs. Erin Shreve shares "We always love our summer events because we are able to plan the science topics that can be done outside - from rockets, bridges, to catapults. A lot of our participants have been attending for years so changing up the lessons is always a priority and now is the perfect time to learn about the power of the sun. We can't wait for July!"
