There is an air of excitement on the Grand River Academy campus as fall athletes participating in cross country and soccer arrived for check-in and registration on Monday, August 24th. Operating under new guidelines and regulations carefully planned by the Faculty and staff, GRA is ready to begin the 2020-21 school year.
Each student and parent that arrived on campus wore masks and practiced social distancing while registering and moving into their rooms. International and domestic students arrived on campus to start early preparations for their respective sports seasons. Fall athletes will immediately begin training and team bonding activities upon returning to campus.
As part of the newly formed Eagles Sports and Performance Program (ESP), fall student-athletes will adhere to a preseason schedule of two sessions a day along with rest, recovery, and team bonding taking place in the evening. Training in the ESP Program is sport specific; meaning each athlete will have a tailored program to meet the demands of his sport in order to achieve a maximum level of success. To promote self-confidence within our students, GRA mandates all students participate in at least one interscholastic or intramural sport throughout the year.
