Success comes in many forms, as seen by this week's alumni spotlight of Ryan Cramer '93. Following in his family's footsteps of the mortgage profession, Ryan is a Senior Loan Officer at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona helping customers with their financial needs.
Currently residing in Scottsdale, Arizona, Ryan enjoys spending time with his two boys, Tristan and Ashton, as well as his girlfriend, Debra. His hobbies and interests include studying martial arts at the Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsi and watching Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting. Ryan has also participated in extreme physical races and loves to travel.
When asked for some of his fondest memories on campus, Ryan responded "The friends that I made there. No one was your 'typical' kid, so everyone was pretty accepting. It was really cool that I knew peeps from Korea, Japan, Curacao, Saudi Arabia, etc. Mr. Petkovsek and Mr. Svetaski were awesome. I always thought Mr. Wooding was really cool too, because I was probably only 4'5" when I was there and he literally looked like a giant to me, but always looked at me with a 'What's up buddy' look," rather than making a comment about my height."
His current advice to students includes a paraphrase of the mantra in the Armington Hall Dining Room..."Never give up. Never, ever, ever, give up," shared Ryan. "Progress/growth only happens when you go outside your comfort zone. Be your own person and never let anyone make you feel insignificant. Study now, because although they say you can....you really can't go back and have a re-do."
Ryan is still in contact with his favorite teachers and friends but would love to hear from those he has lost touch with as well. He wants his GRA friends to know, "I'm proud to be GRA alumni. What I learned from GRA helped me immensely."
If you would like to get in touch with Ryan, fellow GRA alumni, or be featured on David's Desk, please reach out at email@example.com. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
