Headmaster Welcome

I was honored to be installed as Grand River Academy’s 30th Headmaster in 2012. Building upon a rich history and many traditions, I was provided with the opportunity to move GRA forward for future generations. Founded in 1831, GRA is one of the oldest school in the Western Reserve.

The faculty, staff and myself take great pride in the mission of GRA to help young men activate their academic, emotional, and social potential and prepare them for lifelong success. We believe in educating our students in all aspects of learning - both inside and outside of the classroom. That is why GRA provides a 360-degree approach in developing the total young man.

Our programming encompasses all aspects of living and learning while at Grand River Academy. Our teachers and staff focus on providing growth opportunities for each student. This is especially evident in the programs offered:

Our 360-degree approach enables students to develop skills that will help them not only in high school and college, but also in their daily interactions and as they continue into their professions. I’m proud of our young men. They graduate with a 100% college placement rate, proceeding to colleges throughout the country, and even the world. I’m excited to see the continuous progression of our students on campus, and when they return as alumni.

All of the above could not be possible without best faculty and staff in the country, a supportive and energized Board of Trustees, and GRA’s many donors and friends. While the campus is beautiful, it is the people that make the magic at Grand River Academy.

The state of GRA is strong and the future looks bright.
