Ways to Give

Grand River Academy takes great pride in serving as a trusted steward of the donations made to the school to support its mission, its students, its faculty, and its future. Several Giving Opportunities exist at GRA.

The Blue White Fund (GRA's Annual Fund)

Tuition alone does not cover the full cost of the Academy’s annual operating expenses. Donations support the many features that make our campus a home including student life programming, financial/scholarship assistance, athletics, faculty professional development, facility maintenance, and, often an area of greatest need during a given school year.

The Blue & White Fund, GRA’s annual giving program, provides critical support for every aspect of the student experience at GRA. Give now and make a difference in the lives of our students and teachers.

Capital Projects

Recent capital projects at Grand River Academy include the Bud Field Student Center and the Robert S. Morrison Lecture Center. Naming opportunities within each structure are still available.

Endowment Fund

Gifts made to the GRA Endowment Fund ensure the financial stability of Grand River Academy.

Additionally, there are also named scholarship opportunities available through The GRA Endowment Fund.

In-Kind Donations

In-kind donations are always welcome at Grand River Academy. Recent in-kind donations include appliances for faculty housing, orchestra tickets for students, books for the Knowledge Commons at Gates Library, athletic equipment and silent auction packages for the Grand River Gala.

Special Projects

Each school year, Grand River Academy addresses specific projects that will impact the current student body, and often build the infrastructure for the students who come after them at GRA. Gifts can be restricted to support a donor's chosen special project. Recent projects include the creation of the Productive Growth Center, the dormitory bathroom renovations, refurbishing the dorm common areas, and replacing weight/fitness center equipment.

Volunteerism

Grand River Academy welcomes alumni, community members and interested individuals to volunteer with GRA. Opportunities include the GRA Alumni Association and the GRA Board of Trustees, as well as one-time or reoccurring opportunities such as guest speakers and extracurricular activity volunteers. GRA is always seeking Alumni Ambassadors, Admissions Ambassadors and Advancement Ambassadors.

A NOTE FROM THE ADVANCEMENT OFFICE

Dear GRA Family:

Yes, the snowflakes were falling fast and heavy that fateful day. The temperature was a tropical eighteen degrees. And my feet were cold, despite the hearty winter boots that I was wearing. However, I never felt more warmth than when I stepped into Armington Hall on February 4, 2013.

On that day, I began my role as Director of Advancement at Grand River Academy and I experienced what I believe many members of the GRA family have experienced – a sense of community. Not only was I greeted by staff and faculty, but I was also welcomed by individual students who literally just stopped by to introduce themselves.

Speaking with these future GRA graduates, I learned far more than any orientation or historical outline could offer me. I learned about their favorite courses, their preferred activities, their hometowns, their families and what their goals were after graduation.

Now, over three years later, I continue to be amazed by our students. And I am humbled at the significant strides we have made collectively as a community. With the various constituents of our school – from our faculty and staff, to our alumni, their parents and our current families, to the long-time friends of GRA and our local community – we have increased volunteerism, established new school events and fundraisers, and surpassed our annual fund goals.

As we expand our advancement programming and build the capacity of The Blue & White Fund this school year, please anticipate various means of communication from the Advancement Team. We want you to be aware of the incredible things happening at Grand River Academy and how you can be involved!

Gratefully,

Kristen Kitchen
