New Opportunities for New Graduates at GRA

New Opportunities for New Graduates at GRA

Summer at Grand River Academy is an opportunity for reflection and planning for the upcoming school year. This summer has been no exception! A successful pair of Alumni Association meetings, a new program for the Fall Family and Friends Day on October 1st, and an exciting new opportunity for our young alumni to stay engaged with campus are just a few of the highlights.

Each year as a new class of young men enter our brotherhood as students at GRA, a class must also journey onto their next goal in life. It is hard to imagine our Class of 2016 Seniors received their diplomas almost 3 months ago! These newest members of the Alumni Association offer a new opportunity to engage and learn what we can do to continue serving our students and alumni.

Beginning this year, we will be in contact with our most recent graduates who are navigating their new collegiate lives, and those who are entering the workforce as well. What we have experienced, and we as a school community have come to know, is that learning does not end with high school...and neither do the challenges associated with new experiences.

That is why we have created a guide, Life After GRA: A How-To Guide for College Success, with tips and helpful suggestions from GRA faculty, staff, and alumni to help our most recent graduates in their college career. Along with this guide from their mentors, we will be keeping in touch with our college freshmen throughout their first year to give advice and connect them with their GRA teachers, as well as friends of GRA who can help guide them.

We are excited about this new opportunity to connect with, and engage, alumni from every era and background. As with many of our new ideas, they come from suggestions and feedback from you- our thoughtful alumni, families, and friends. I encourage you to share suggestions and opportunities that you see which will help us better serve our students and alumni alike.

As always, I love having the opportunity to speak with alumni and friends of Grand River Academy.
