AUSTINBURG, OH – April 15, 2014 – Grand River Academy is pleased to announce the approval of the school’s strategic vision for 2014-2018 by the GRA Board of Trustees.

Headmaster Tim Viands shares, “This new vision is ambitious.  It is designed to be nimble and flexible, adapting to changing demographics, economies and educational trends.  It aligns The Academy’s mission with a forward-thinking mindset, consistently concentrating on six key aspects – our students, our team, our academics, our community, our campus and our future.”

Much was accomplished and achieved with GRA’s most recently completed Strategic Plan.  The Bud Field Student Center, Robert S. Morrison Lecture Center, Dylan Baseball Field and the Berkey Sports Pavilion were constructed.  In addition to these value-added campus structures, the plan successfully executed the headmaster succession, transition process and led to GRA’s re-accreditation by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.

“In the next four years, GRA will be embarking on a variety of initiatives to create and improve academic spaces and programs that foster intellectual curiosity, creativity and collaboration, as well as advance our educational program to provide students with the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in a complex and changing world,” continues Headmaster Viands.  Initiatives include the expansion of GRA’s Focus Curriculum program, Foundations Learning Program, increasing faculty professional development and building collaborative efforts in Austinburg Township, Ashtabula County and the northeast Ohio region.
