Eagles Soar to Victory in Golf!

Grand River Academy student athletes have been hard at work practicing and improving their game! It was evident with the golf team’s first win and the soccer team’s scores against the defending champions Hearts for Jesus and unbeaten team Horizon Science Academy. Here is the weekly recap:


The Grand River golf team won its first match on the season and ended a losing streak dating back 2 years this past Tuesday! The Eagles beat Badger High School by a score of 221-227 and were led by Trevor '17 with a 51 and Jacob '17 with a 54.


The soccer team tied unbeaten Horizon Saturday afternoon 3-3 between thunderstorms here on campus. Play continues to improve as the defense settles in while the attack, led this match by Derrick '20 with the hat trick off of assists from Zak '18 and Vincent '17.

The soccer team tied once again, this time while hosting the defending champions Hearts for Jesus. Scoring early off a serve from Carter '20, Derrick '20 put the Eagles on top, which held to the half. In the second stanza, Hearts did get the equalizer off a great ball, tying the score 1-1 which held to final whistle. Dorje '17 and Sid '17 both pulled outstanding play in the back.  This brings GRA to a 0-4-2 record going into our Saturday match against Elyria First Baptist.
