GRA Connects with Alumni and Families

Grand River Academy welcomed students from 18 different states and 13 different countries during last school year. Thus, GRA has a unique visit alumni, families and friends of the school everywhere the Academy travels!

Just last week, Assistant Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations David Thomas ‘11 was able to coordinate his admissions travels to include a fun Mix & Mingle event in the Columbus area with the help of Toby Shultz ‘85, an early Cincinnati breakfast with Mike Mandell-Brown '07 and his father Mark, as well as a dinner with the Okruhlica Family P '15.

From tales of weekend trips and late night antics, to long study sessions and academic breakthroughs, positive memories and laughter surrounded each visit. Mr. Thomas ‘11 shares, “It is vital to spread the mission and share the success of Grand River Academy, its students and families. We are able to do this by gathering the memories and stories shared during these visits. We learn best, from those who know the Academy best.” He adds, “As an alumnus myself, a pivotal benefit to attending a boarding school like GRA is that our community is not just focused in one area, but rather all over the map.”

As GRA continues to travel throughout the year, look for our emails to see if we will be in your area! (You can sign up here if you are not currently receiving our correspondence). If you are interested in hosting an event or connecting with the Academy, please reach out to Mr. Thomas ‘11 personally at This email address is being protected from spambots.
