Grand River Academy's Alumni Weekend is just one month away! Not only will we be celebrating the Graduation of 23 current students on May 26th - 27th, but we will also be celebrating our strong alumni network as we welcome these newest members to the GRA brotherhood. All alumni and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend the festivities!
Many exciting events are planned for Alumni Weekend. On Friday, May 26th, step back in time and experience a day in the life of a current GRA student! Eat lunch with a faculty advisor, attend two afternoon classes, and relax at the Bud Field Student Center for afternoon study hall. “Pre-register” for classes and pick-up your schedule in Armington Hall at 12:00pm, before heading to lunch.
That evening, celebrate the Class of 2017 as they reflect on their time at GRA and anticipate their future as alumni. This evening of recognition features a reception in the Bud Field Student Center, followed by a special presentation, and concludes with a dinner buffet in Armington Hall. RSVP required & business casual suggested.
The Graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 27th includes speaker Dr. John DeCato '80 and the 5th annual "Alumni Take a Stand." Led this year by Jeff Mead '12, GRA will ask all alumni (and their families) to "Take A Stand" and be honored. The graduating class of 2017 will then be asked to "Take A Stand" themselves, joining their fellow alumni as members of a very elite club – the distinguished graduates of Grand River Academy.
Immediately following the ceremony, please join us for a celebratory luncheon at Armington Dining Hall, followed by the dedication of the Trombley Home in honor of Mr. Jed Trombley's more than 20 years of service to GRA. After which, a campus highlights tour will share all of our updated spaces and new buildings.
Other activities on Saturday include a winery social to enjoy the afternoon with fellow alumni, family, and GRA friends at Laurello Vineyards. Then, at your leisure, take a trip back to “weekend activities” and visit the travel destination of the summer, Geneva-on-the-Lake. Visit Eddie’s Grill for a root beer, play putt - putt at Alison’s, and enjoy the picturesque view of Lake Erie.
