In the past few weeks I have been fortunate to travel and talk about Grand River Academy with those who know us best - our alumni, alumni families, current parents, past faculty, and our many GRA friends. As our campus community celebrated Valentine's Day, I reflected upon my love for the GRA family, as well as what it means to be loved by those who support us.
We held our first Mix & Mingle in late January in Columbus. I was blown away with the response! Everyone who attended enjoyed catching up and learning about the different eras of our history. Sharing memories, and many laughs, I too learned about our great school.
I also traveled to New York City with Director of Advancement Kristen Kitchen to attend the annual CASE NAIS conference in early February, where we were able to share best practices and learn from fellow independent schools. Additionally, we had the opportunity to meet with GRA alumni parents Mr. Paul and Mrs. Lori Goodian P'12, who thoughtfully shared their GRA experience.
Bringing together the GRA community is our goal - whether in Columbus, New York City or a future stop on our spring road trip. As we continue to hold events on campus and travel across the country, I hope you will reach out if we are in your area. The dates and map of visits can be found here: http://www.grandriver.org/school-life/blog/gra-road-trip-2016
We're looking forward to learning more about your GRA experience and sharing with you the success occurring every day on campus! As an alumnus of Grand River Academy, and someone who speaks regularly with our alumni and friends, I know that the quality of our school, and our ability to help the young men we serve, relies upon the strength of the greater GRA community. Traveling and being active with those who support us is a wonderful reminder to me of the appreciation I, and my fellow colleagues, have for each of you.
