The soccer team traveled to Ashtabula yesterday for a tough non-league contest against Edgewood High School. After falling behind 1-0 late in the first half, the team came out charging after the break. The increased energy resulted in a goal from Teddy early in the second half, the first of his soccer career. Edgewood answered about five minutes later with a goal of their own to make the score 2-1. Grand River had a chance to tie the game late on a Penalty Kick attempt, but were thwarted by the home side's keeper. Edgewood then put the icing on the victory with a late goal to make the final 3-1. The Eagles fought hard, but ultimately came up short in this one. Grand River is now 1-4 (1-2 LEC) and takes the field again on Wednesday at Lakeside High School.
