What would Henry do?

July 12, 2012 Simply put- Henry would graduate, have college acceptances to choose from and go off to college as a prepared 21st century citizen. That's the end product, but that path there is different for every boy that attends Grand RiverAcademy. The 'cookie cutter' approaching to educating our boys is non-existent.  In a New York Times article by David Brooks called "Honor Code", he postulated the question:  What would happen if Henry V were attending today's public schools? If you remember from the Shakespeare play, Henry V was a boisterous and energetic young man, but became brave and wise when he grew up.  An aside- we all, in our heart of hearts, know that our children will be fine eventually. Many public schools just don't have the ability and capacity to handle Henry.  Boys need to be active.  They crave attention.  They want to talk, move, interact, create, express... the list goes on and on.  This is what we do at Grand River Academy. Where many schools will simply forget about Henry, pass him along without any accountability, ignore his need and allow him to slip through the cracks, we put Henry in an environment where he has every opportunity to find success.
